“ ... a 30-minute live
magic act in the Presentation Theater called "Mysteries
of the Human Body."
Written with humor and performed by Chris Conner, who is
in charge of Exploration Place's special programs, the magic
show takes place in an elaborate, eccentric science lab
with help from volunteers in the audience.
Conner and his assistant, J.T. Byrne, demonstrate the body's
five senses with illusions that range from levitation to
psychic surgery (pulling out 26 feet of intestines that
look a lot like garden hose).
A highlight is a filmed stunt with veteran magician Mark
Wilson, who makes a psychic connection
with the audience long-distance from the famed Magic Castle
in Los Angeles.
Conner and his crew designed and built all but two of the
props for this original show.
It's the sort of audience participation show that's rare
in science centers but familiar at venues like Walt Disney
World and Universal Studios.”

“Chris Conner has been writing,
producing, marketing, and performing in live theatre shows
for Exploration Place for the past two years, and has made
the success of the live shows a major reason that visitors
are coming to this creative learning center. I have never
seen anyone in the field who is as versatile and professional
in his style and execution of presentation. In all of the
productions that Chris Conner has developed and performed
in, his eye for fun and exciting shows is blended with a
keen understanding for real learning.
The great thing about Chris Conner’s shows is that
the writing and execution of the facts and fun is so good
that the audience never realizes that they’re learning.
He inspires people through theatre and magic that asking
questions and leaving with a sense of awe drives you
to want to explore the world around you. He reaches audiences
of all ages and interests – that is the trademark
of a veteran performer, and elevates this theatre to a new
level.”
